Q. How long does it take to complete the series with my child?
A. The DVD is divided into three 20 minute parts making the DVD one hour long. However, each part has several activities for the mentor and youth to work through. As a result, the amount of time it takes each pair to work through the program will vary depending on how much time is spent during the discussions and activities. On average, the mentor should plan 30-45 minutes for each part of the program. |

Q. Is it a Christian program?
A. No, the Believe, Achieve, Live Life with Vision series is not a Christian program. The program was designed to help parents communicate their own values to their own children. Scripture from the Bible and overt Christian signs and symbols are not included in the series. However, for parents interested in incorporating Biblical principles into the program as they work with their child, a Christian supplement is available. |

Q. Will there be more expenses after I buy the initial program?
A. No, the program includes three tools that make the lessons tangible and memorable for the youth. The tools are designed to help parents capture life's lessons as they develop by plugging it into one of the tools so the youth can literally touch, feel, and experience the lesson being communicated about values and character, goal setting, and decision making. Everything a parent will need to do this will be included in the initial purchase. However, there is a monthly letter that parents can sign up for that costs $25.00 per year. The purpose of the letter is:
-
Announces the VIP (Very Influential Person) of the month.
-
Develop a story about values and character with suggested discussion questions.
-
Provides one suggested Values-Based Goal to work on and the nine steps required in order to achieve success.
-
Poses a problem and then works through the decision using the decision making models.

Q. Can my child apply to be the VIP (Very Influential Person) of the month more than once?
A. Yes! We want your child to apply every month that they accomplish a Values-Based Goal and have demonstrated that they know how to make a positive decision. The success of this company depends on the success of the Mentor's and VIP's using the tools. |

Q. What is the most appropriate age for the program?
A. If your child has the ability to understand the words Family, Friendships, Recreation and other "Things of Value," then your child is old enough for the program. Also, keep in mind that the program is designed for parents to use with their children in a mentor / mentee' relationship. There is not a cut off age at the upper end of the scale but it will be more difficult if the child has stopped viewing their parent as someone they can go to for advise, someone they respect, and someone they admire. |

 |
Q. My child has a learning disability, will that be a problem?
A. Each parent should evaluate the program to suit their child's needs. Tasks associated with the program will be prioritizing things of value and character traits, setting simple goals based on their values, and making lists of other people before they make a decision. If your child has the ability to manage this type of information... there shouldn't be any problems. |

Q. What is the author's background?
A. The author, Kevin M. Kraske, has mentored kids since he graduated from high school. When he was 18, he helped coach the Nebraska state select soccer team (boys 13 and under). He was also an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 463 in Papillion, NE at that time. After graduating from college at Texas Tech University, he coached a girls soccer team in Albuquerque, NM (girls 13 and under). After moving to Virginia, he got involved in the local Boy Scout Troop and started to co-lead a youth ministry. Kevin is not a child psychologist or family therapist; he simply has a heart for working with children. |

Q. Why did Kevin write the Believe, Achieve, Live Life with Vision program?
A. While working with the local Boy Scout troop and co-leading a youth ministry, Kevin's brother and his wife had twins (one boy and one girl). That night, he was in his truck trying to think of how he could help his brother communicate their family values, how he could help teach them how to set and achieve goals, and most of all... how could he help them learn how to combat peer pressure. Kevin thought of the title: Believe, Achieve, Live Life with Vision that evening. For the past seven years he has been developing the program... It works! |

Q. Is the program being used by any school systems?
A. Not yet... the initial concept was developed as a tool for parents to use with their children to communicate their values to their own children. However, we realize that some children will miss out on these valuable lessons if it's not presented by a school teacher in the classroom. If you would like to order the series for a classroom environment, please call. A custom package will be developed with special pricing considerations. |
